Congratulations!
One of our fifth grade students won first place in the state
division of The DAR writing contest: Congratulations to Elizabeth
Markow.
Summer Camp
Due to the expected tile replacement on the second floor, it appears
that we will not be able to offer the summer camp
this year. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for our
families.
Maritime Center
We have been very lucky to have had The Maritime Center come
in to work with so many of our students this month.
Students were treated to science classes on a variety of topics such
as sea animals and fish dissection.
Grant
ASCS has been blessed to receive a grant of $30,000, from
an anonymous donor, for science education. We will work together
with the Maritime Center so that all students will benefit from
their expertise. Some of the plans for next year include trips to
the center, beach and harbor. There will be many “hands-on”
experiments at school on topics such as: fossils, food chains, river
ecology, marine life and cells. This is certainly wonderful news for
our school!
ASCS Financial Aid
Please mail financial aid forms by April 15th. The chance
of receiving financial aid is diminished if the form is received
late. Forms are available in the school office.
ASCS Fun Fair
The annual Fun Fair, sponsored by the Student Council,
will be held on May 21st. All students are invited to the cafeteria
for a fun day of playing games. We would appreciate any donations of
prizes for our fair.
